7 Sad Songs That Make Me Happy On Stormy Days (Songs I do the R&B-hand-grab, dramatic-stare-out-the-misty-window dance movements to when no-one is watching)

There are some days where I really believe I have a story inside of me that the world needs to hear. Then I remember that I work at a publisher and EVERYONE feels that way. It's also no secret that I can sit and laugh with myself for hours, cos let's face it, I'm hilarious.

And then there are sad days, days when I never want to poke my head out from under my "Keep Calm" duvet and want to just wait for Summer days, salted caramel ice-cream, crayfish tails on the braai and happy days. One of my favourite things to do on days like this (I'm having one right now) is put on my headphones and escape to a place far away from reality. Where other people are sadder than me for some creative twisted reason... Pick up my hair brush and mouth along to the best sad songs I love... But, alas, I'm at work, so Youtube will have to do for now...

1) Sam Smith - Stay

 2) Adele - Someone Like You

3) Eminem ft Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie

4) Maroon 5 - How

5) Christina Perri - Jar of Hearts

6) Aerosmith - I Don't Want to Miss A Thing

7) Pink ft Nate Ruess - Just Give Me a Reason

Then I'm just going to leave this picture of Selena Gomez posing in the rain over here, well, because, I can...

Gaza Under Attack, MH17 & several other plane crashes, 4 year old murdered in botched hijacking... But yes, let's debate Samsung S5 or wait for Iphone6...

Everyday the news seems to become more and more desolate. It sometimes feels like the world has nothing else to do but kill each other and destroy entire communities and nations.

We are literally tearing each other apart, and for what? To claim an empty piece of land? To feel powerful and important? When does the madness end? Stop the world, I want to get off.

Sometimes I wonder if we had no religious or political affiliations if we would have anything to fight for, less justifications for our inhumane actions and violations. Often we are doing the very things our bibles and Qur'an(s) teach us not to do. Atleast in a secular society there is no passing of blame to an unaccountable person.

In what world is it ok for babies as young as 3 months old to be raped without society batting an eyelid? Or innocent children to be murdered in cold blood? For whole communities to live in fear of stepping outside their houses in case they get caught in the cross-fire of rival gangs.
What hope does the next generation have of joining together nations that have been fragmented and pushed worlds apart?

Apartheid had Nelson Mandela.
The Civil Rights movement had Martin Luther King Jnr & Malcolm X.
India had Gandhi & Mother Theresa.
Who do we have now?

Stop attacking people because they have different beliefs to you.

Stop trying to prioritise one person's senseless killing above another.

Stop these "narcissistic" "support" systems on social media. Your selfie is not going to cause a ceasefire. Take real action if something means that much to you. Noone benefits from the spread of grotesque and often propaganda-like images of bloodied and deceased bodies. We know it's happening and we need to stop the violence, how would you feel if your family member was being paraded on the timelines of social networks across the world? (In this day and age Photoshop has become the root of all evil. Stop believing everything you see, not everything is reality.)

Stop teaching our girls "Don't Get raped".
Instead we should be teaching all DON'T RAPE!
Stop waiting for someone else to fix the world, be the *bleeping* change this world needs!
